Privacy Policy

SCHON Aesthetic Clinic & Beauty Bar ("SCHON", "we", "our", or "us") operates the SCHON client mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. What Data We Collect

1.1 Account & profile

• Phone number (used to sign in with OTP).
• Name, email address, gender, address, date of birth, and anniversary (optional profile details).
• Profile photo (optional) — only if you choose to take or upload one.
• IP address when you request or verify an OTP, used for fraud prevention, account security, and to infer an approximate location.

1.2 Salon activity

• Bookings, visit history, and upcoming appointments.
• Bills, receipts, and payment history for services you have used.
• Cart items and service preferences.

1.3 Permissions we may ask for

• Camera — only when you choose to take a profile photo (or, in future, a skin photo for treatment analysis).
• Location — when you first use the App after signing in, or when you ask for directions to the salon, or tap "Use my location" to autofill your profile address. It is not tracked in the background. You can deny it and still use the App; you may type your address manually in your profile.
• Contacts — only when you use the "Refer a friend" feature to pick a contact and send them the app link.
• Notifications — to send booking confirmations and offer updates.

1.4 Automatically collected

• Push-notification device token (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
• In-app usage events such as screens opened, searches run, services viewed, cart changes, share actions, and booking actions.
• Device and app diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version, screen size, crash logs, performance) needed for support, analytics and security.
• IP address and approximate location derived from it when you request or verify an OTP, for fraud prevention, account security, and abuse detection.
• Latitude and longitude when you grant location permission, used to autofill your address. If your device has no native geocoder, these coordinates may be sent to a third-party reverse-geocoding service (BigDataCloud) to obtain a readable address.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To sign you in and maintain your salon account.
• To show your bookings, bills, and service history.
• To send booking confirmations, reminders, and offers.
• To provide directions to the salon when you ask.
• To autofill your address when you grant location permission.
• To detect and prevent suspicious login activity, abuse, and fraud using your IP address and approximate location.
• To let you share the app with a friend you choose.
• To improve the App, fix issues, understand how customers navigate the App, and keep the App secure.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with:

• SCHON Aesthetic Clinic & Beauty Bar — for your bookings, billing, and service records.
• Firebase / Google Cloud — for push notifications and crash reporting.
• Our backend — hosted on AWS / Neon (encrypted).
• BigDataCloud — only when your device has no native geocoder and you grant location permission, to convert latitude/longitude into a readable address. See the BigDataCloud Privacy and Cookie Policy.
• Legal requirements — if required by law or a court order.

4. Data Security

• All traffic between the App and our servers uses HTTPS / TLS.
• Passwords and tokens are never stored in plain text on your device.
• Server data is stored in encrypted databases on AWS / Neon.

5. Data Retention

• Account and booking data is kept while your account is active.
• IP addresses captured during OTP requests are retained for the lifetime of the related OTP session and a short period afterwards for fraud prevention and security review, then automatically deleted.
• Location data is processed as needed to autofill your address and is stored as part of your profile.
• You may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us (see below).
• App cache (catalog, images) is stored on your device and cleared when you uninstall.

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Access and update your profile from the Account section.
• Delete your account and data by contacting us.
• Deny camera, location, or contacts permissions — the App will still work, but the related features will not. If you deny location, you can type your address manually in your profile.

7. Cookies

The App itself does not use cookies. Our website may use minimal localStorage for preferences.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users 16 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

9. International Data

If you use the App outside India, your data may be processed on servers located in other countries (e.g., AWS regions). By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
